Beauty Tips for Healthy Lips







1.        Exfoliate once a week

Our lips are constantly exposed to the elements such as the wind and sun, making them prone to irritation and dehydration. These often results in cracked and dry lips, which is far from ideal for lipstick lovers.  Exfoliate once a week, scrubbing in gentle, circular motions to stimulate blood circulation and polish off dead skin to maintain smooth, healthy lips. You can make your own homemade scrub with natural ingredients like honey and brown sugar to gently  buff away dead skin and deliver moisture back into those lips


2.       Avoid licking your lips
While you might feel like you’re hydrating your lips, the truth is that licking your lips actually dries them out even more.  This is because your saliva evaporates quickly, leaving your lips drier than before. 


3.       Use chapsticks with SPF
The skin of your lips are very delicate, and require proper sun protection just like the rest of your skin.  Be sure to use lip balms with SPF to protect them from the harmful UV rays of the sun while keeping them moisturized to keep them soft and supple.. 


4.       Drink lots of water

Drink plenty of water not only helps to keep your skin hydrated, but also help to maintain healthy looking, hydrated lips.


5.       Steer away from matte lipsticks

Matte lipsticks are known to last all day and are highly popular. However, the trade off is that they also contain ingredients that make them extremely drying to your lips. If you must use them, prep your lips with a layer of moisturizing lip balm to seal in moisture before applying your favourite matte lipsticks.
