Sleep is an essential part of life.
some of you have hard time to fall alseep at night?
This condition can be caused by many factors.
Stress, medical condition, too much caffeine and etc...
It is painful when you can't sleep at night.
Next morning, You might get headache, you feel exhausted and can't focus on your
study or work.
I am going to list some food that will help you sleep better.
1. Banana
Bananas contain tryptophan, an amino acid that's valuable in your effort to get to
sleep. Tryptophan converts to serotonin, a sleep promoting neurotransmitter, and is
the cause of the post thanksgiving "turkey fog" you might experience. The fruit is also
a source of melatonin, which is often known as the "sleep hormone." The dose of
melatonin causes you to feel drowsy, and as a result, help you fall asleep.
2. Garlic
No scientific studies about garlic being sleep inducer has been published.
Some scientists say to avoid garlic because garlic contains compounds that causes
heart burn and acid reflux. but some people say garlic actually helps to induce sleep.
3. Romaine Lettuce
The white fluid that you see when you break or cut lettuce leaves is called
lactucarium.
This has relaxing and sleep inducing properties similar to opium but without the
strong side effects. Simply eat a few leaves or drink some lettuce juice.
4. Kiwi
The fuzzy tropical fruit might be the ultimate sleepy time snack.
A recent study by Taiwanese scientists found that women with sleeping problems
who consumed two kiwi fruit one hour before bedtime fell asleep 45 minutes faster,
and had better sleep duration and quality than those who went without the fruit.
5. Milk
A cup of warm milk or a milk based drink is traditionally used for sleep induction.
It is not just an old wives' tale. Dairy products are rich in the amino acid trptophan,
which helps in the production of the sleep inducing brain chemicals, serotonin and
melatonin.
6. Lotus root
Lotus root is considered to have many curative powers. According to modern day
science, the plant is rich in iron that fortifies the blood and has plenty of vitamin C,
anti oxidants, polysaccharides, and polyphenois that are believed to be effective
fighting cancer.
For people who are emotionally unstable, anxious, nervous, or unable to sleep, raw
lotus root juice has been known to help, because it eases the nerves.
7. Walnut
Walnuts are a good source of tryptophan, a sleep enhancing amino acid that helps
make serotonin and melatonin, the body clock hormone that sets your sleep wake
cycles. Additionally, University of Texas researchers found that walnuts contain their
own source of melatonin, which may help you fall asleep faster.
8. Onion
The onion are one of the most popular vegetables, consumed worldwide. Not only
does it taste good when added to food, onion has many health benefits.
The chinese used onions in food therapy because onions have the ability to relax
muscles, and may consequently help to relieve an underlying cause of insomnia.
