Korean Public Holiday Last time, we knew about Korean holiday Seollal . Seollal is the most important holiday in Korean with Chuseok. Today, we are going to learn about Chuseok. The Korean calendar is a hybrid one. It is a mix of the Gregorian and lunar calendar. So, Korean traditional holiday  of  autumn harvest festival Chuseok, occurs on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. Chuseok, also known as Hangawi . This weekend, tens of millions of Koreans returning to their ancestral hometowns. Traditional rites include  an early morning ancestral worship ritual  and the tending of family tombs, called beolcho . Most villages hold their own festivals. Korean Public Holiday Today, we are going to learn about Korean holiday. Some of holidays are similar with western days. Some of holidays are different. Now, let's learn about Korean Holidays. On January 1st, It is new year's day. It is same with western culture, but Korea have two times of new year's day. Another one is January 1st in lunar calendar. It is same with Chinese New year's day. Korean lunar new year is called ' Seollal' . Seollal is the traditional Korean calendar's  most important holiday,  along with the autumn harvest festival, Chuseok . In Korea, Seollal is when extended families  often gather at the eldest brother's home, and food, games, conversation, and ancestral rites figure prominently. 10 Soy crab Soy crab is called 'rice theft' in Korea. Because you cannot stop eating it with rice. put it on the hot rice, and mix rice on the crab shell. It is such a great taste.
