At work a woman today praised me and said what a difference is made in the short time I’d been at work. Don’t know if it’s true or not. I don’t care, it made me feel good"

Yakson House held "the praise" forum to have a time to give praise to somebody.  

 Whether it’s receiving thanks for a job well done or being told that your outfit is beautiful, there’s no doubt that being praised rocks. Receiving praise feels fantastic and is very motivating yet it also makes us feels good because we’re increasing someone else’s sense of self. 

 People who praise other generally possess emotional intelligence, are confident, observant and like making others feel good about themselves. In fact, praise is an effective way to give direct feedback about others’ achievements besides improving feelings of warmth and respect.

 So if praise is so beneficial for everyone, why don’t we do it more often?

 Well, sometimes people who are lack of self-confidence often find it difficult to give praise because they feel other don’t value their opinions and might reject them. Not everyone has the gift of articulating their feelings and may hold back from giving praise. 

Besides people who hold grudges against you, competitiveness can also inhibit people from giving praise. If they view you as a threat, they wouldn't want to praise you because they would rather keep that confidence boost for themselves.

 Praising mat come naturally for some but to some, it may be easier said than done. Don’t feel pressured to use flowery language if you’re not a man with many words. A simple “You did great!” is perfectly fine. If you feel uncomfortable praising face to face, you might want to send a text or an email. However it may be done, just make sure that your praise is genuine to other.

. What you should do is to look the person in the eye and say thank you. So, keep that smile on your face and start giving genuine compliments for the best of both worlds. :D
